Emirates Health Services Holds Sixth Session of Advisory Council

Dubai: Emirates Health Services (EHS) held its sixth virtual session of the Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) on March 27, 2025, in Dubai. Patient and family representatives along with strategic partners reviewed the Council’s achievements from 2024 and discussed the work plan for the current year.

A key focus of the session was the IRMIS initiative, which aims to educate patients about their rights and encourage active participation in their treatment process. This initiative reflects EHS’s commitment to delivering equitable healthcare that respects patients’ personal values and beliefs. EHS also continues to promote the Patient Rights Charter across all its facilities to improve the overall healthcare experience and build patient trust.

The PFAC plays an important role in evaluating and designing new services to meet patient needs and expectations. In this meeting, Council members discussed the 2025 business plan, which includes introducing several new services. They plan to participate in field visits to observe the patient journey, analyze needs and preferences, and help ensure that integrated services are provided to meet patient expectations.

The session also highlighted the importance of community engagement. Council members stressed the need for regular customer councils in healthcare facilities and neighborhoods. This direct interaction with the community helps gather feedback, understand public concerns, and develop services based on real needs.

At the end of the session, patient and family representatives made several recommendations to further enhance the patient experience. They proposed strengthening communication channels between patients and healthcare facilities, expanding educational programs on patients' rights and responsibilities, and developing methods to measure patient engagement.
